We started this amazing 3-day excursion from Marrakech to the Merzouga desert, crossing the stunning High Atlas mountains. We will cross the famous port of Tizi N’Tichka, the highest road pass in North Africa with 2,260 meters of altitude. Along the way, we will make several stops at panoramic points so you can capture spectacular photos of the surrounding landscapes.
Our first stop will be in an argan oil cooperative, where we will first know the process of making this precious oil, and we will discover its countless benefits for the health and care of the body.
We will continue south, taking a 6 km detour to the picturesque village of Ait Ben Haddouwhere we will visit its famous Kasbah, declared World Heritage by UNESCO. This place has been the scene of renowned films as Gladiator and The Jewel of the Nile.
After lunch on the road, we will continue to the city Ouarzazazateknown as the gateway to the great desert. On our journey, we will pass through the majestic Skoura Palmeral and the lovely Valley of the Rosesas we continue to advance to the spectacular Dade Gorges.
Finally, we will head to our accommodation in the Dades Valley, where we will enjoy a delicious dinner and spend the night, resting for the next day of adventures.
After breakfast, first thing in the morning, we will embark on our journey through a road that crosses small Berber villages and Kasbahs, each with its own charm and particularities. During the journey, we will make several photographic stops to capture the beauty of these landscapes. Our next destination will be one of the highlights of southern Morocco: The Todra Gorges.
The Todra River has sculpted an impressive vertical walls of high height and beauty. This place is a true paradise for climbers and an incomparable natural beauty corner. After a relaxing break for lunch, we will resume our route to the most anticipated point of this 3-day tour from Marrakech: the spectacular Dunes of MerzougaIn the Erg Chebbi.
When we get to the hostel in Merzouga, we take a little break. We will leave our suitcases and everything we do not need for the adventure in the desert, and we will prepare to leave in a caravan of drugstores. The dromedary ride, about an hour, will take us to the magic Berber camp.
During the journey, we will make a stop in the middle of the dunes to admire the majestic sunset. At this time, the dunes are stained with a reddish color due to the game of lights and shadows that the rays of the sun project on the sand, creating a visual spectacle that you will want to photograph without stopping.
Once we arrive at the camp, we will be welcomed with a tea of hospitality. Before dinner, we will have free time to relax, stretch our legs and enjoy the quiet atmosphere of the dunes. After dinner under a starry sky, start the Berber partyWith live music and traditional drums that, if you cheer up, you can also play!
To close the night, we will have the opportunity to climb the dunes near the camp to contemplate the fleeting stars and, if you dare, ask for some desire. We will spend the night in the desert, housed in Berber camp.
After a resting repairer, we will mature to enjoy another unforgettable show: the sunrise in the desert. After living this magical experience, we will ride back on our camels to return to the hostel. There, we will have time to shower and enjoy a delicious Berber breakfast.
Afterwards, we will begin our way back to Marrakech, passing first through Rissani, former commercial capital of the country in the 16th century. Even today, Rissani maintains that commercial tradition, and its greatest attraction is its famous market, which is held on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays since time immemorial.
